Swimming Pools, Playgrounds, and Short-Term Rentals To Open

As Colorado’s coronavirus numbers continue to improve, swimming pools, playgrounds, and recreational sports leagues are allowed to resume.

Governor Jared Polis released new orders yesterday that allow for the reopening of swimming pools and playgrounds and the resumption of youth and adult recreational sports leagues.

The rules would allow outdoor swimming pools to open at half capacity or for up to 50 people, whichever is fewer. Up to 10 people at a time would be allowed on playgrounds.

Guidance for places of worship, also released yesterday, would allow them to open at 50 percent capacity or up to 50 people. Masks would be required at all times.

While the new orders relax some restrictions, Polis called for Coloradans to remain diligent and continue to distance themselves from each other as much as possible, wear face coverings and wash their hands often.

Chaffee County Public Health has extended their health order that was to have expired Sunday to this Friday to give them to time to adapt to the new order. Short-term rentals, however, were allowed to reopen beginning yesterday with a Safe Business certification.
