San Luis Valley:
A slightly better chance for storms here, with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms developing after midday. Skies will stay mostly sunny, and highs will reach around 83. Winds start out of the northwest, shifting to the south by late morning.
Leadville and Fairplay:
Also looking at a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. You’ll see mostly sunny skies with a high near 68. Winds will be calm early, then pick up slightly from the west-northwest later in the day.
Looking ahead to the start of the week:
Afternoon showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast through Tuesday—especially over the mountains and along the I-25 corridor. Watch for gusty winds, brief heavy rain, and even some small hail during these storms.
