Kroger and King Soopers are joining Walmart in asking its customers no to openly carry their guns into their stores in the wake of recent mass shootings.

Walmart first took the action after the shooting in El Paso that left 22 people dead, as well as a shooting in Mississippi where two Walmart imployees were killed in July.

Walmart is also discontinuing its sale of handguns in Alaska—the only state where the company currently sells them—and handgun ammunition.  It’s also banning customers from openly carrying guns in Walmart stores.

Kroger and King Soopers joined Walmart this week and are calling on Congress to pass laws that would strengthen background checks.
