The City of Salida and the Chaffee County Community Foundation have officially launched the SteamPlant Fee Assistance Program to help support local arts and cultural organizations.
The new program is designed to make the SteamPlant Event Center more accessible for performances, exhibits, and community events by covering up to 30 percent of facility rental fees.
To help launch the program, the City of Salida has committed $5,000 in matching funds, matching the first $5,000 donated by community members to the Salida Arts and Culture Fund.
The Chaffee County Community Foundation opened applications yesterday, July 6, and eligible arts and cultural organizations are encouraged to apply.
