Squirrel in Morrison Tests Positive for Bubonic Plague

Here’s a story for the “What could possibly happen next” file.

A squirrel in Morrison has tested positive for Bubonic Plague.

Risk for contracting the plague is extremely low as long as the proper precautions are taken, including eliminating all sources of food, shelter and access for wild animals around your home, not feeding wild animals, maintaining a litter and trash free yard, and people and pets should avoid all contact with sick or dead animals-especially rodents.
