The South Rim of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is partially reopening today after being closed since July 10th due to wildfire.

The visitor center and park store will be open daily from 8am to 5pm, and visitors can again access the Tomichi and Gunnison Point overlooks.

Several areas remain closed while staff complete safety repairs. The South Rim Fire continues to burn in remote areas of the park and is 52% contained.
