Shelter-In-Place Order Issued by Chaffee Sheriff as They Search for Armed and Dangerous Individual

The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office has issued a shelter-in-place order for locations south of Highway 50 near Salida and Poncha Springs as they search for an armed individual wanted for a homicide in Custer County.

Here is the text of the reverse 911 call:

The CCSO is sending out a shelter-in-place order. LE units will be looking for an armed and dangerous suspect wanted in a homicide in Custer County. We are looking for a WHT 2017 Ram 1500 with the Colorado license plate BHLK27, with a topper. Please lock all doors and windows and stay inside. If vehicle is seen do not approach the vehicle. Only Call 911 if you see the vehicle or suspicious person or persons in the area.

Suspect is a male, 45years old, 6 foot 3 inches, 200 pounds, brown hair and eyes. Do not approach. Armed and dangerous.
