The Shawnee Peak Fire has burned 37 acres and is 0 percent contained.

A full-scale suppression strategy has been implemented.  Firefighters will utilize natural fire barriers and incorporate trails for the fireline perimeter.

Smoke is likely to settle in the valley along Highway 285 north of the fire.

No structures have been reported as threatened, however, the town of Shawnee is three miles and contains approximately 150 structures.
