Construction on the Highway 50 sewer line replacement project is ahead of schedule and is advancing into a new phase as work nears completion in Poncha Springs and shifts toward Salida.

Final sewer connections in Poncha Springs have been completed. Equipment will now be moving to the lower end of the project near the intersection of Scott Street and Old Stage Road, at the entrance to the Two Rivers commercial area. Temporary closures of Oak Street and Old Stage Road will be necessary. Detours will be in place.

The US-50 Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project is a major infrastructure investment replacing and upsizing approximately 4.4 miles of existing sewer main between Salida and Poncha Springs. The project is designed to increase wastewater system capacity, improve long-term reliability, and support future growth throughout the regional service area.
