While the rate of new monkeypox cases has been falling in Colorado, a second case of monkeypox was recently confirmed in the San Luis Valley.

The Valley’s first case was reported in August. The risk for monkeypox to the general public is considered low. Reach out to your healthcare provider or local public health agency if you have questions or believe you are at risk.

The Jynneos vaccine to protect against monkeypox is available through local public health offices in Alamosa County (719-589-6639), Costilla County (719-672-3332), and Rio Grande County (719-657-3352).
