A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through 4 PM this afternoon, so if you’re heading out, be prepared for winter driving conditions. Heavy snow is falling across the region, with total accumulations expected between 6 and 12 inches in areas including the Wet Mountain Valley, Chaffee County, Western and Central Fremont County, and around the Cañon City area.
Upper Arkansas Valley: Snow will continue, especially through early afternoon. Thunder could also be expected, with a Highs near 43 and with light winds around 15 miles per hour. Tonight, temps will dip down to a low around 21.
San Luis Valley: Snow showers sticking around until about 2 PM with a high near 39. breezy conditions will stay around 10 miles per hour. Tonight, more snow is expected, possibly with a bit of thunder, and an overnight low near 17.
Leadville & Fairplay: Snow likely through late afternoon, with skies staying mostly cloudy. We will see a high 33, with under a half inch of new snow accumulation expected. Tonight’s low will drop to around 13 degrees with cloudy skies.
