Incumbent Ward 3 Councilwoman Wayles Martin has announced she will run for election to the seat in November. Martin has served on the Salida City Council since her appointment in March 2024 to fill the vacancy left by Harald Kasper. She works full time in the service industry and has focused her efforts on workforce housing.
Two other candidates have also announced their intention to run for the Ward 3 seat: Cory “Salty” Riggs and Adam Martinez.
Election packets for the 2025 Salida municipal election are available at the City Clerk’s office in the Touber Building and must be returned by August 25th. This year, voters will elect one City Council member from each ward as well as a new Mayor. Candidates must meet residency and voter registration requirements and collect at least 25 valid signatures to qualify for the ballot.
