The Salida Tree Board is inviting residents to play a hands-on role in expanding and caring for the city’s urban forest through a new tree adoption program.
Through the initiative, the Tree Board will plant a young tree in the city right-of-way in front of a participating resident’s home. In return, adopters agree to regularly water and care for the tree, helping ensure it thrives in Salida’s climate.
The program aims to enhance neighborhood beauty, increase shade coverage, and support long-term environmental health across the community.
Residents interested in adopting a tree can pick up an application at Salida City Hall or download one online at cityofsalida.com.
City officials encourage community members to get involved and help grow Salida’s urban canopy—one tree at a time.
