Both Salida and Buena Vista had their offense clicking in the Chaffee County Showdown. Buena Vista jumped out of the gate running to take an 11-4 lead in the first three innings. Salida scores 8 runs in the 4th inning to take a lead over the Demons. Buena Vista regained the lead in the top of the 6th 15-13. Salida kept the scoring going, and tied the game 15-15 going into extra innings. From there Buena Vista would strand 2 runners on base in the top half of the 8th. With Salida having a walk off opportunity, Anthony Taverna drove in a run to give Salida a 16-15 win. Salida improves to 4-8 while the Demons fall to 10-5. Catch both teams highlights here..

Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
