Salida Schools Require Masks Due to COVID-19 Outbreak

Salida Superintendent David Blackburn announced that due to a cluster of positive COVID cases, a mask mandate is in place.

According to Blackburn, there has been a cluster of positive COVID-19 cases develop across multiple campuses over the past few days. Due to the quickly developing situation, they are requiring all staff and students on all campuses to wear a face covering as additional layers of protection.

This level of response will stay in place through October 28th, 2021. Blackburn said that he expects to have a better understanding of exposures by that time.

At this time they are evaluating the need for remote learning dependent on staff capacity to cover programs because of a shortage of substitutes and staff childcare connections. If remote learning becomes necessary, a separate communication will be sent.

Two reminders: First, the school will contact you directly if your child has been potentially exposed. Second, if your child is symptomatic, please keep them at home until you can make a plan with your school’s nurse.
