SALIDA, Colo. — The Salida Schools Arts Council (SSAC) will host its 11th Annual Spring Collage Show Fundraising Event on Friday, April 24, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Salida High School.

The Spring Collage Concert is a community-wide celebration of student creativity, featuring work from Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and Industrial Arts programs. Students will showcase and sell their artwork while also taking the stage with live performances throughout the evening.

New this year, attendees can also enjoy the spring drama production immediately following the collage show. The performance will feature three one-act plays held in the school auditorium, expanding what is already the largest student art event of the year.

Organizers will be asking for entry donations at the door, as proceeds support scholarships for graduating seniors. Students will also be selling a variety of handmade items, including K-12 art card packs, ceramic bowls, fridge magnets, and mixed-media canvases centered on a spring “Birds” theme created by the high school Art II class. Select student pieces will be available through silent bidding.

In addition, numerous local professional artists have contributed work for a silent auction, offering attendees a wide range of artwork at various price points.

Funds raised during the event will go toward two $1,000 scholarships awarded to seniors pursuing degrees in performing or visual arts at the university level. The event will be run by the school’s National Art Honor Society.

Community members are encouraged to attend and support student artists across the Salida School District.
