Salida Police Looking for Two on Drug Warrants

According to Salida Police Commander Rob Martellaro, on March 17th and 18th, the Chaffee County Drug Task Force conducted an undercover drug operation in the City of Salida.

The drug operation consisted of controlled purchases of illegal narcotics. The CCDTF was able to use a Confidential Informant to purchase Heroin from two suspects from the Salida area through controlled buys.

Arrest warrants were sought by the CCDTF and subsequently issued by Chaffee County District Judge Patrick Murphy. The arrest warrants were issued for Dylan Maurstad (27) of Salida and Jesse Derke (41) of Salida. Charges on both arrest warrants are C.R.S. 18-18-405 Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance-Level 3 Drug Felony and C.R.S. 18-18-403.5 Unlawful possession of a Controlled Substance-Level 1 Drug Misdemeanor. Both arrest warrants have a $10,000.00 cash only bond attached to them.

Through the drug investigation a search warrant was also obtained for a Salida residence where the drug transactions had taken place on 03/17/2022. On the afternoon of 03/18/2022 the search warrant was served at the residence with the assistance of the Chaffee County Combined Tactical Response Team. Additional narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found inside the residence. Five individuals were removed from inside the residence and one of them was found to have a felony arrest warrant out of Chaffee County. The warrant was for drug charges unrelated to this investigation. The individual was subsequently arrested on the unrelated outstanding warrant and transported to the Chaffee County Detention Center. That individual is identified as Scott Milliken (29) of Salida.

Jesse Derke and Dylan Maurstad were not located inside the residence during the search on 03/18/2022. Both suspects remain at large at the time of this press release. There are active arrest warrants for both suspects. Photos of both suspects will be attached to this press release. The Chaffee County Drug Task force consists of members from the Salida Police Department, Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Buena Vista Police Department.

The drug investigation is still ongoing and other arrests are possible.
