In the early morning hours of 01/10/2026, an altercation took place at a residence in the 100 block of C St. During
the altercation, a male victim was shot. The male victim was taken to the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical
Center. Salida Police Officers were notified and immediately began an investigation. Due to the injuries sustained,
the victim was flown to a hospital in Colorado Springs where he is in stable condition.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing, and detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding
the incident. No arrests have been made, and additional information is needed.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information related to this
shooting to come forward. Even seemingly minor details may be helpful. Additionally, if anyone has surveillance or
Ring Camera type footage between 3:30 AM and 4:30 AM that shows individuals on foot, please contact
investigators.
