Salida High School senior Clara Streeter was selected to perform with the All State Concert Band in Greeley on April 6th. Clara, a senior at SHS, plays the trumpet and her audition earned her 2nd chair trumpet for schools in the classification of 1099 students or less – recognizing her as one of the best trumpet players in the state.
Clara has been playing trumpet for seven years, and in addition to playing with the SHS concert band, she also participates in the marching band. She takes pride in her skills and improvements, and also supports other musicians to be proud of themselves and their improvements.
Clara enjoys reading and writing, and making earrings. She also participates in the Extraordinary Teen Council (ETC), 4-H, theatre and singing. After graduation she intends to attend CSU to study biochemistry with a goal of becoming a veterinarian. Her family includes her mom Michele, dad Matthew, and brother Aidan. She has a cat, Sophia, and five chickens.
The All-State Concert Band will perform at 4 p.m. at the Monfort Concert Hall in Greeley, Colorado. The concert is open to the public and tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, and can be purchased at https://ucstars.showare.com/default.asp?searchdate=4/6/2024.
