SALIDA, Colo.—In order to meet the growing need for non-urgent medical services in Salida, HRRMC Salida Health Center has expanded its walk-in clinic hours full time on weekdays.

The walk-in clinic – previously open Monday through Friday, 3-5 p.m. – is now open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

“When we opened the walk-in clinic at Salida Health Center in December of 2022, we knew there was a necessity for non-urgent care in south Chaffee County,” explained Vice President of Providers and Clinics, Heather Roberts. “While we set out to establish this needed service, we quickly realized the hours of operation were not fulfilling our county’s need. With these extended hours, we are now happy to share that any person who arrives at the Salida walk-in clinic prior to 5 p.m. will be seen, and we hope these hours provide greater access to quality care for our community.”

The walk-in clinic is for those who are experiencing mild sickness and minor injuries; it is available on a first come, first served basis and no appointments are available. You do not need to be an established patient of Salida Health Center or HRRMC clinics to utilize the walk-in clinic.

Examples of mild sicknesses and minor injuries to visit the walk-in clinic for include cold; cough; fever; sore throat; bronchitis; sprains; minor cuts and broken bones (i.e. fingers or toes); ear and sinus infections; limb pain; vomiting or diarrhea; urinary tract infections and more. Patients with severe injuries, life-threatening conditions and medical emergencies should go directly to the closest Emergency Room. Examples of severe or life-threatening conditions include symptoms of heart attack and stroke; uncontrollable bleeding and large, open wounds; head and spinal injuries; sudden loss of consciousness; and severe chest or abdominal pain.
