The Salida Elks Lodge will hold its annual Hoop Shoot free-throw contest this Sunday, December 7, at the Salida High School gym. The competition is open to all boys and girls ages 8–13 as of April 1, 2026, and participation is free.
Registration will take place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the contest beginning at noon and wrapping up before 1 p.m. Competitors will shoot within age divisions: 8–9, 10–11, and 12–13, with boys and girls competing separately.
Winners will earn medals and advance to the next level of competition in Rifle, where they’ll face other district champions.
