The City of Salida will hold an Election on November 2, 2021, for three Ward seats and the mayor position.   

Nomination petitions can be picked up on August 3 in the Clerk’s office in the Touber Building.  Petitions must be returned on August 23rd.   

The City of Salida will host a Candidate 101 course on August 5th in Council Chambers. City Clerk Erin Kelley will discuss requirements for running for office, time commitments, and campaign finance.    

Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder Lori Mitchell has been recognized as a Certified Elections Administrator by the National Association of Election Officials. Mitchell’s designation is the country’s highest professional achievement for election officials.   

Mitchell has worked in the Chaffee County Clerk’s Office since 2011 and was first elected as County Clerk in 2014.  In 2018 Mitchell was elected to serve as President of the Colorado County Clerks Association.

Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
