The Salida City Council will hold a joint work session with the Salida Planning Commission tonight (Monday) at 5 p.m.
On the agenda is a discussion about a proposed Love’s Travel Center to be located at Cleora Road and Highway 50, within the Vandaveer Ranch Planned Development District.
The proposed convenience store and travel center would include:
- 79 car parking spaces
- 8 overnight RV parking spaces
- 11 fueling bays
- A fenced dog park
- A potential future hotel site
Also on the work session agenda is a discussion on short-term rental residency.
A regular City Council meeting will follow the work session at 6 p.m.
During the regular meeting, council members will:
- Hold public hearings on updates to the Land Use Code and Zoning Map
- Consider an intergovernmental agreement with the Salida School District
- Review an inclusionary housing agreement for the Mesa Ridge subdivision
- Approve appointments to the Chaffee Housing Authority Board
- Consider a new compensation plan for elected officials, which would set salaries at $1,000 per month for the Mayor and $750 per month for City Council members and the City Treasurer.
