The Salida Chamber of Commerce held their annual awards banquet this past Friday night with the theme “On Top of the World—Every Great Climb Begins With a Single Step.”
Winning awards were Man of the Year-Heart of the Rockies Radio’s Gary Buchanan, Woman of the Year-Maggie Falconi, From the Heart Award-Marilyn Bouldin, the Cornerstone Award-Terry Scanga, Business of the Year-Walke and Associates, P.C., Entrepreneur of the Year-David Blackburn and the Salida School Board, and the Vaquero’s Most Wanted award went to Wendell Pryor.
New officers for 2020 were also announced.
Keith Zoni is the Chamber Board President, Patrick Post Vice President, Angel Rowell Secretary and Shiela Moore Treasurer.
Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
