Salida Mountain Trails (SMT) and the City of Salida Parks and Recreation are holding a grand opening for the redesigned Salida Bike Park on Friday, July 31st. The event will begin at 10am with brief remarks followed by a ribbon cutting and community first ride.
Located at the F Street Trailhead, the Salida Bike Park has undergone a complete transformation this summer. SMT hired Santa Fe-based Rocket Ramps to reimagine the original pilot project to improve flow, progression, and overall rider experience. The new design incorporates durable, prefabricated features to provide consistent takeoffs while also reducing maintenance needs to improve the park’s long-term sustainability.
“Informed by community feedback, the revamped bike park creates an accessible place for kids, families, and riders of all skill levels to develop their abilities in a safe, purpose-built environment,” said SMT Executive Director Jon Terbush. SMT provided all funds for this capital project, and will bring 20+ years of experience in trail management to maintaining the facility. This ongoing partnership ensures the bike park will remain a safe, high-quality community asset well into the future.
The project was also made possible through an extraordinary partnership of local businesses, foundations, and community organizations.
The Salida Bike Park is free and open to the public.
