Salida Awarded $391,500 in Great Outdoors Colorado Grants

The City of Salida has been awarded two Great Outdoors Colorado grants totaling $391,500 to fund a new skate park and a mountain heritage park.

$350,000 will go toward a new 16,000 skate park that will be located at Centennial Park.  Construction will take place throughout the summer and fall with a grand opening scheduled for July 2021.

$41,500 will be used to construct a Mountain Heritage Park on S Mountain featuring three pavilions and informational panels that will explore the history of our mountain ranges.  Construction will begin in April and the park should be open by September of this year.
