The website Under Cover Colorado has named Salida and Buena Vista one of the top places to retire to in the state.

According to Shawn Reeser, “Salida’s got one of the biggest historic districts in the state and nearly 6,000 residents, so it’s actually one of the more populated mountain towns.” And Buena Vista has a high elevation of around 8,000 feet and population of around 3,000 people, so it’s perfect if you’re looking for solitude.”

Other towns that made the list include Fort Collins, Loveland, Woodland Park, Durango, and Palisade on the Western Slope.
