A wildfire burning about a mile and a half northeast of San Isabel has some residents under a pre-evacuation notice.
The Saint Charles Fire, burning in the San Carlos Ranger District in Pueblo County has grown to 266 acres.
According to the US Forest Service, “Firefighting resources, including hand crews, engine crews, heavy equipment, helicopters, and airplanes, continue to work towards containment on the Saint Charles Fire. Overnight weather conditions allowed for significant fire growth. Fire managers anticipate another active day for fire behavior and smoke production.”
Smoke is visible in Custer and Fremont counties.
