Richard Wesley Beauregard (Dick), Age 85, of Salida, passed away peacefully at his home on April 3, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones at his side.

Dick was born in Salida on October 6, 1939 to the late Pete Henry and Ethel Duncan. He was the youngest of two children. He and his older brother Eugene grew up in Salida and Dick graduated from Salida high school in 1957.

Dick married his late wife, Chris on December 3, 1974, together they resided in Salida and raised three boys, Ken, Jim and Shayne. Dick served in the Army in 1963. Dick worked as a Lineman at Mountain state telephone and telegraph company, Climax in Leadville and served as a Lieutenant for the Buena Vista Correctional Facility.

He also owned his own welding company and raised cattle on his ranch. He retired in 2001 and spent a lot of time riding his horses, taking care of cattle and spending a lot of time at the family cabin, he and his family personally built.  Dick enjoyed doing many things, but his greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, hunting, and taking horseback packed trips to the high lakes fishing. When asked in his last days if there was one more thing you could do, he said he would like to pack into a high lake again and fish.

He is survived by sons, Jim Beauregard of Hudson, CO and Ken Beauregard of Llano, TX; his grandchildren, Courtney Sheets and Garrett of Whitewood SD, great-grandchildren, Lucy Lynn, Expecting great grandson Wesley James, Nephew, Stuart Beauregard of Rapid City, SD, Nieces Kathy Dixson and Carol Rozman of Colorado Springs, Co.

A special thank you to Laura Reeder of Oklahoma, his partner and companion in life for the past 6 Years and for helping to take care of him at his home in his last days. They did a lot of traveling back and forth from her home in Norman, OK to Salida.

A celebration of life is being planned later this summer.
