Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has opened a new round of grant funding aimed at helping communities address and reduce conflicts between humans and bears.
The agency is offering $1 million in funding through a program designed to support local solutions, such as securing trash, improving public education, and implementing other bear-aware practices. The goal is to minimize encounters and promote safer coexistence between residents and wildlife.
Grants are available to a wide range of applicants, including local governments, homeowners associations, community groups, businesses, and individuals.
Applications can be found on the CPW website at cpw.state.co.us and must be submitted by May 29.
