Places to Age has opened its waitlist today for individuals interested in future independent living, assisted living, or memory care at its planned senior living community off of County Road 120 in Salida. Joining the waitlist lets the Places to Age board members know an individual is interested in living at the future community and ensures they will be notified when residency applications become available. A $100 deposit is required to join the waitlist and is fully refundable at any time and for any reason.
Joining the waitlist is not an application for residency and does not guarantee admission.
Marilyn Bouldin, Board Vice Chair of Places to Age said, “Building the waitlist will help us better understand the level of interest in future senior living options and demonstrate community interest as we continue conversations with funders and investors who can help make this project a reality.”
Places to Age officials last reported to local media in June that the planned facility would house 66 units on 8 acres, with a 76,000-square-foot building. The proposed facility includes 10 memory-care studio apartments with a secured outdoor area, a dining area, a clinic, a fitness room that can be used for physical and occupational therapy, a 4-acre park and workforce housing.
The total project cost is estimated at $32 million, funded through a USDA Business and Industry grant, private equity and federal New Market tax credits. The project has received grants from the Next50 Foundation and the El Pomar Foundation as well as matching donations from the community. The hope is to have financing stabilized in about a year and a half.
The waitlist form asks interested individuals for basic contact information and general preferences, including anticipated move-in timeline, apartment size, and interest in independent living, assisted living, or memory care.
