Candidates for the Buena Vista School Board can pick up petitions beginning tomorrow (Aug. 7).

All petitions are due back by August 28th.

Five of the seven seats are the Buena Vista School Board are open in the November election.

Petitions for 5 seats on the Salida School Board can also be picked up beginning tomorrow.

Incumbents in 3 districts plan on running for re-election: Joe Smith in District 4, Jennifer Visitacion in District 2 and Joel McBride At Large.

Recently appointed District 5 Representative Jeff Post and Penny Wilken in District 1 do not plan to run.

Election packets may be picked up by contacting Brandy Coscarella at 530-5406.

Petitions for those wanted to run for Salida City Council, City Treasurer and Mayor positions in November are available and able to be circulated.

Petitions can be picked up from the Deputy City Clerk at Salida City Hall.

The signed and completed petitions must be returned to the clerk’s office by August 26.

Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee.
