The petition process for those wanting to run for Salida Mayor, one of three City Council seats or City Treasurer ends next Monday, August 28th.

The mayor’s position is for a two-year term and the council and treasurer positions are for four-year terms. A candidate must be nominated by a petition signed by at least 25 registered voters. Only petitions obtained from the City Clerk’s office may be circulated.

As of Monday, Aug. 21st, the following have requested a petition:

  • City Council Ward 1 – Suzanne Fontana
  • City Council Ward 2 – Adrane Kuhn and Jessica Downing
  • City Council Ward 3 – Adam Martinez, Alisa Pappenfort, Joel McBride and Wayles Martin. Martin also drew a petition for the City Treasurer position.
  • Incumbent Dan Shore is the only candidate filing a petition for the position of Mayor—so far.

The election is scheduled for November 7th.
