Meet Wilbur! He’s the Heart of the Rockies Radio Pet of the Week!

Wilbur is a loving 3-year-old male Australian Cattle dog mix. He is the sweetest dog… he has won over the hearts of all staff and volunteers. Wilbur does great on walks and loves meeting new people. He can be selective when making dog friends, so make sure to bring your pup to the shelter first to make sure it’s a good fit. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations, and ready to go home with you today!

Foster Plea
Our dog kennels are completely full right now. If you have room in your home for a dog foster, even just for a weekend away, please head to https://www.ark-valley.org/get-involved/foster-program/

All adoptable animals receive the following services prior to adoption:

  • Spay or Neuter
  • Age-appropriate boosters
  • De-wormer
  • Vaccines
  • Microchip

The Ark Valley Humane Society is open Monday through Saturday, from noon to 5 pm. Call (719) 395-2737 to schedule an appointment!

Shelter Together Matching Campaign

During the month of February all donations to the Shelter Together Matching campaign will be generously matched by the Phillips, Fitzgeralds and Hamontre up to a $4,500. In partnership with Chaffee County Hospitality, this money will help provide over one hundred nights of motel room stays to unsheltered families and their pets in the coldest winter months. This will help ensure that unsheltered members of our community and their pets stay together this winter.
