Meet Millie! She’s the Heart of the Rockies Radio Pet of the Week! Millie has been at the shelter since last November.
Millie is a very mellow cat for her age—only 4-years-old. She is content to sunbathe and cuddle all day long. She’s looking for a calm and loving home where she can do just that.
Millie didn’t have an easy time when she first arrived at the shelter. She needed dental work done and afterwards she received oral medications to help her healing process. It wasn’t fun for Millie to receive these meds everyday. Luckily she has finished her medication course and is on the mend, feeling better everyday.
Millie has lived with other female cats in her previous home. She would do best in a home with no dogs.

Tails on the Trail
The Ark-Valley Humane Society’s 2023 Tails on the Trail 5K is Saturday, May 20th, and there are some major improvements this year. The 5K course has moved to Tenderfoot hill in Salida and this year, AVHS is hosting an after party at the Salida SteamPlant. Whether or not you join in during the 5K, you can still celebrate after the race. Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome at the SteamPlant plaza (just outside).
Fundraising games, brunch from KalamataPit catering, and music and merriment for all will take place at the SteamPlant directly following the 5K race, which starts at 11 am. Tickets are available at ark-valley.org/events/tott/.
