Meet Brinnie! She’s the Heart of the Rockies Radio Pets of the Week!
Brinnie is a shy and sweet 4 year old spayed female. She likes to spend her days out on our catio watching the birds and cars go by. She takes some time to warm up to new people, but with some patience she will be purring and laying next to you in bed in no time. Brinnie has been great with the other cats she’s met here at the shelter, and is hoping a home of her very own will be calling soon. Call (719) 395-2737.
All adoptable animals receive the following services prior to adoption:
- Spay or Neuter
- Age-appropriate boosters
- De-wormer
- Vaccines
- Microchip
The Ark Valley Humane Society is open and available by appointment only, make sure to call 719-395-2737 and schedule an appointment before coming to the shelter! If you or someone you know is in need of pet food, we have community pet food available! Just call us to arrange a contactless pick up!

AVHS is hiring! With everything opening back up we are looking to add an additional staff member to our team. Must love animals and be willing to work weekends. Pay starts at $16.50 an hour and benefits are included with this position. Find out more and apply here!
The 5th Annual Feline & Fido Photo Contest
Get your awesome animal photos! The 5th annual Feline & Fido photo contest is live! It’s $5 to submit a photo and $1 per vote, with all proceeds benefiting the animals at AVHS. You can submit your photos and vote at gogophotocontest.com/avhs. Winning photos will be featured in this year’s Feline & Fido Calendar (like Terry’s cat Boo and Molli’s dog Montana were last year).
