Meet Bella! She’s the Heart of the Rockies Radio Pet of the Week!
Bella is a very special dog who is looking for an equally special forever home.
Our amazing staff member Abbie fell in love with Bella and adopted her. One night, on her way to the emergency vet in Colorado Springs for her other dog, Ember, Abbie swerved to miss an elk and hit a tree. Both dogs were ejected from the vehicle. Ember was found right away but Bella was missing for weeks, lost in the forest. She eventually found a live trap and Abbie was able to bring her home and nurse her back to health!
During Bella’s recovery, some issues began between she and Ember, particularly with resource guarding. Abbie tried everything possible to manage the dogs together in her home but she finally made the terribly difficult to decision to find a new home for Bella.
A special home is required for Bella: One that will provide the patience and safety net required for this beautiful, sweet lady to heal from her trauma as well as regain her confidence.
