The Heart of the Rockies Chamber of Commerce, the Chaffee County Community Foundation, and the Central Mountain Small Business Development Center have announced the launch of the 2026 Chaffee County Community Awards—an annual celebration honoring the people, businesses, and organizations that make a meaningful impact across the county.
This year’s awards banquet will be held Friday, February 20, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds. Community members are encouraged to participate in the nomination and voting process to highlight local excellence in leadership, innovation, service, and community spirit.
Nomination Period Now Open
Nominations are open November 3 through December 15, 2025. Residents can submit nominations for outstanding individuals, businesses, and organizations using the official online form:

Award Categories:
Heart of the Rockies Chamber Awards
- Cornerstone Award: Honors an individual whose long-term support and dedication have served as a foundation for community strength.
- Business of the Year: Selected by the Chamber Board from among the Chamber’s monthly business honorees.
- Wanted Award: Presented by the Vaqueros to recognize a community member whose contributions make them indispensable.
Small Business Development Center Award
- Entrepreneur Awards: Recognizes two businesses—one in North Chaffee County and one in South Chaffee County—that demonstrate exceptional entrepreneurial spirit, resilience, and innovation.
Chaffee County Community Foundation Awards
- Volunteer of the Year: Celebrates an individual whose volunteer work shows extraordinary dedication and leadership.
- Philanthropist of the Year: Honors a donor whose generosity has made a significant difference in the community.
- Organization of the Year: Recognizes a nonprofit delivering high-impact programs and innovative solutions to local needs.
