Ark Valley Indivisible (AVI) and the League of Women Voters of Chaffee County (LWVCC) announce the No Kings #4Vote-a-Palooza, a community celebration designed to encourage early voting and honor the democratic process. The event will take place on Saturday, October 17, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Riverside Park.
Salida joins thousands of communities nationwide for No Kings #4, a national day of action. While previous No Kings events focused on mobilization and protest, this event’s focus is on turning historic people power into voter power, aiming to ensure all eligible voters have a plan, understand their options, and feel empowered to make their voice heard.
The Vote-a-palooza will feature live music from local performers and a high-energy set by DJ FunkFlux. Attendees can access a variety of resources and activities, including:
- Voter Services: Check registration status, register to vote, and learn about
current ballot initiatives. - Civic Action: Write postcards to encourage midterm turnout and create positive
voting signs. - Family Fun: Kids’ arts and crafts tables featuring rock painting and sidewalk
chalk art. - Turning People Power into Voter Power: In a unique display of civic engagement,
organizers are encouraging attendees to bring their completed ballots to the park.
Throughout the event, small groups will walk together from Riverside Park to
the courthouse to drop their ballots in the official drop box.
