Nathan Michael Schwartz (1998 – 2023)

Nathan Schwartz.

Nathan Michael Schwartz was born on July 31, 1998, in Colorado Springs.

In August 2002, he moved with his family to Gering, Nebraska, where he attended preschool. In February 2004, he and his family moved to Eaton, Colorado, where he attended Eaton Public Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade and graduated in May 2017. He was involved in the band and played the trombone. After graduation, he attended the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs from August 2017 through February 2021, and majored in Computer Science. While at UCCS, he was active with the tabletop game club.

Nathan loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing video, tabletop, and card games, as well as reading, hiking, kayaking, biking and traveling. Nathan had a kind, pure, gentle, loving heart. He was intellectually gifted, yet very humble, respectful and thoughtful. He endeared his family and friends with a dry wit and a funny sense of humor. He was a self-proclaimed introvert and minimalist.

Left to mourn his loss are parents, Jonathan and Michelle Schwartz, sister Mikayla Schwartz and fiancé Evan Gesick, uncles Tom Roberts, Randy Schwartz, Bob Johnson and wife Vickie, Kevin Johnson, Bruce Johnson and many cousins. He is also survived by his best friend Bentley Scholz. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Leo Schwartz, and June Schwartz Magruder, Ray and Edna Johnson, step-grandfathers Hank Siefken and Alfred Magruder, aunt Beverly Schwartz, and special aunt Donna Roberts.

A memorial service to honor Nathan will be held on Thursday, October 12th, 4 pm at Christ Community Church, 1301 15th St., in Greeley. Please dress casually, as Nathan preferred shorts or jeans, and funny graphic t-shirts with puns.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Community Church, Greeley, CO, Chaffee County Search and Rescue in Salida, or an animal shelter of your choice.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at lewisandglenn.com
