Nancy Nadine (Reid) Kaiser, 68, of Buena Vista, went home to be with the Lord, on December 12th, 2023.

“The darker the night, the brighter the stars. The deeper the grief, the closer to God.”

Fyodor Dostoyevsky

She is survived by her husband Russell Kaiser, her brothers Dale Reid and Randy Reid, her sister Cheryl Johnson, her daughters Karen (Barry) White and Heather (Matthew) Simpson, and her granddaughters Ashlee White, Bobbie White, Mckenna Simpson, and Kendall Simpson.

On June 8th, 1974, Russell and Nancy married in Leadville, Colorado and began their 49 year journey. Together they raised two girls while owning and operating the Pinon Court Motel of Buena Vista. After a few jobs around town, helping the community, she began her most notable job at Collegiate Peaks Bank as the Head Bank Teller (Mama Nancy). During her 18-year-long career, Nancy became a pillar in the community through her positive interactions, handing out “dumdum” suckers, dressing up for Gold Rush Days, and being voted “Teller of the Year” for multiple years. Aside from her career, her most important job was being the centerpiece of the family and bringing everyone together.

Nancy loved the Lord and embodied the belief and values of her faith.

A service will be announced at a later date. Please give the family the time they need. A GoFundMe has been set up to receive donations in an attempt to ease the financial hardship with Nancy’s hospital bill and memorial service funds.
