Funnel clouds were spotted near Hartsel and the Ranch of the Rockies Friday (June 30th) morning.
Sent in by a listener, Cherie Curry, this incredible image was captured at approximately 9:15 am and was one of two funnel clouds observed.
It’s unclear if either of the funnel clouds touched down.
The National Weather Service called for several severe thunderstorms across southeast Colorado today. Storms were expected to develop across the Pikes Peak and Palmer Divide region and along the Raton Mesa through the early afternoon, and then continue across the far southeast plains before moving into western Kansas through the early evening. There will also be a low risk for a tornado or two.
