How does a drone operator keep up with constantly changing federal and state rules and regulations?

That question, along with others, will be answered when Zach Dougherty, current president of Mountain West, will be talking about his “day job” as a real estate and drone attorney in Denver, during next weekend’s meeting of the Mountain West UAS (drone) organization. This is a free event open to both our membership and the public. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. at Buena Vista Airport.

With so much attention on recent and upcoming changes to the federal regulations, it is easy to overlook the critical role state laws play in the growth of the drone industry. Zach will discuss a few interesting court decisions that have come down in the past 12 months, offer some insights into the evolution of airspace rights, and give some practical points on how commercial and recreational drone pilots can minimize their own liability when flying.
