Colorado’s Rocky Mountain snowpack remains well below average, but winter sports enthusiasts may finally have a reason to celebrate: snow is back in the forecast.

Two additional ski areas: Eldora and Vail, are scheduled to open this weekend, offering more terrain options as the season slowly ramps up.

Meteorologists say weather patterns will shift in the coming days, with mountain snow expected Sunday night and another round likely from Tuesday into Wednesday. While the state’s snowpack remains critically low, the upcoming storms could help jump-start winter conditions across the high country.
