Rusty has previously been the Pet of the Week, but there are currently only 2 cats at Ark-Valley Humane Society that are available for adoption. Hopefully this will help Rusty get more attention as he is a special boy. 7 year-old Rusty tested positive for Feline Coronavirus (FCoV), which is a common viral infection in cats. This virus is species-specific and cannot be transmitted to humans or canines. It generally causes an asymptomatic infection, but can cause minor gastrointestinal issues. As a FCoV+ cat, Rusty can still live with other cats. Which is great, because he has a history of living with other cats and was reported to do well! He will need to be an indoor-only cat. Rusty loves cuddling with people and would love to cuddle with you in your home!
Events: This week is Volunteer Appreciation Week and Ark-Valley Humane Society is expressing their gratitude for all of their wonderful volunteers by hosting a Volunteer Appreciation Party this Saturday at Tres Litros. AVHS is so thankful for the volunteers who choose to help animals in need. Last year, 92 volunteers donated over 2,014 hours of time. It truly takes everyone coming together to change the lives of homeless pets.
