Colorado health officials have confirmed a new case of measles in Archuleta County, marking the third confirmed case in the state within just nine days. The infected individual visited multiple public locations while contagious, including Wolf Creek Ski Area and two Pagosa Springs businesses: a medical clinic and City Market, between Friday, March 28th and Sunday, March 30th.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment says this case is not linked to the recent cases reported in Pueblo and Denver. With measles outbreaks spreading across nearby states—Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Kansas—health officials urge Coloradans to ensure they are up-to-date on their measles vaccinations. This warning comes ahead of the busy summer travel season.
