December 31, 1931 ~ March 11, 2024 

Martha Alma Marchase, 92, passed away peacefully Monday March 11, 2024, at her home in Colorado Springs with her family by her side.

Martha was born on December 31, 1931, in Creede, CO. A native of Colorado, Martha made her way to Salida, Colorado in 1951 at the age of 20.

Martha started working at the Rio Grande/Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, where she remained employed for 33 years.

Martha married Anthony “Micky” Marchase in 1952, after the two met at Neil’s Café in downtown Salida. They had four children Vince, Anthony “Babes” Jr. Kathy, and Leo. They made their home along the river on Sackett Street where they remained until “Micky’s” death in 1987.

Martha moved to Colorado Springs in 2006 to live with her son Leo. The two shared their lives with their two dachshunds, Mickey, and Minnie. Minnie stayed by her side for over 18 years before passing away this last October.

Martha was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Salida, and Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Colorado Springs.

Martha lived for her faith and family. She was always the rock that held everyone together. She was an amazing Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband Anthony “Micky” Marchase, and daughter in law Kim (Boyd) Marchase.

Martha is survived by Vince (Karen) Marchase, Anthony “Babes” (Cherith) Marchase, Kathy (Steve) Sentell, Leo Marchase, and her sister Louise. Grandchildren Chris (Tiffany) Marchase, Matthew (Jennifer) Marchase, Megan (Aaron) Pennington. Great Grandchildren Joslyn and Alaina Pennington, and Mason Marchase.

Services for Martha will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Salida, Co. Internment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Salida, CO.

His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado.
