Mama D’s Deli Closes Business & Sells Building

Mama D’s Deli on F Street in downtown Salida made their last sandwich today.

Owner Jeannie Watts has been the proprietor at Mama D’s for the past 3 years. She announced of the stores Facebook page that the building had been sold in a deal that has been in the works for quite some time. Saturday was to have been her last day in business but the Public Health order closing restaurant dining rooms put a damper on her planned celebration and customer appreciation day.

Watts said on her Facebook page:

Hello friends, family and loyal customers, after 3 amazing years of serving you at Mama Ds, I have decided that I am ready for a new adventure!!

I have sold our building in downtown Salida. Saturday, March 28th was to have been our last day in business with a whole week of celebrations planned, but then the coronavirus hit. With a heavy heart, we have had to cancel our plans. Please know that you have made the last 3 years a joy and it has been a pleasure!!

Stay healthy and support all the wonderful businesses in our area. Our friends and neighbors need us now more that ever and I know that we all will do our part!

Til we meet again !
With love ❤️
Jeannie
