It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Linda Rae Abeyta on June 23, 2025. Linda, a cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and community member, was 73 years old.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Alex A. Abeyta of Saguache, CO. She leaves behind her loving children: Laura Abeyta and their beloved family dog, Bear, of Saguache, CO; Frank Abeyta, his wife Jody, and their children Elicia Abeyta and Salvador Vigil of Saguache, CO; and son, Tony Abeyta.
She was also deeply cherished by her brothers, Ted Tronquet and David Tronquet (Cheryl Johnson), both of Saguache, CO. Linda was a beloved aunt to Ted’s daughter, Alexandria Tronquet, and her nephews, TC Tronquet of Denver, CO, and Spencer Tronquet of Gunnison, CO. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who will remember her kindness and generosity.
Linda began her career after high school as a Teacher’s Assistant, where she found joy in teaching children and helping them grow into successful individuals. She later worked in the Saguache County Treasurer’s office, at the Saguache Abstract Company, and the Saguache Town Market. A dedicated community member, Linda was known for her passion for teaching and her commitment to broadening the horizons of the children in her community. Her active participation in Booster Club events and numerous volunteer efforts has left a legacy of kindness and dedication.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at St. Agnes Church, 505 Gunnison Street, Saguache, CO 81149, on July 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with a procession following the Mass. A repast, “to eat again,” will take place following graveside services at the Saguache Community Building at Otto Mears Park.
Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
