Leadville will celebrate halfway to St. Patrick’s Day this weekend with events benefiting the Leadville Irish Miners’ Memorial and the Tabor Opera House Preservation Foundation.

On Saturday, the annual practice St. Patrick’s Day parade marches down Harrison Avenue at noon, followed by a benefit concert at the Tabor Opera House at 7 p.m. featuring the Young Dubliners. Frontman Keith Roberts said, “Not since Oscar Wilde has a Dubliner been this excited to take that stage.” Tickets are available at taboroperahouse.org.

On Sunday at 11 a.m., the Irish Miners’ Memorial will host a dedication of a new sculpture. The ceremony will include tours of the pauper’s section of Leadville’s Evergreen Cemetery and a reading of the more than 1,300 names now identified and honored at the memorial.
